AMAZING ISLAND DAY TRIP FROM TOKYO! (Enoshima Island)
Переглядів 7 тис.День тому
Enoshima (江の島) is a small island in the Kanagawa Prefecture (where we live)! It is only a short train ride west of Kamakura, and is connected by bridge with the mainland. The island has so much to see: a shrine, park, observation tower and caves. Views of Mount Fuji can also be enjoyed on days with good visibility. This was one of the best sunsets we have seen in Japan so far! :) Click here to ...

After several months of living in Japan, our daughter is finally at Japanese kindergarten, or Yochien 幼稚園 as its known locally. Thankfully, we've found a great school where she is beginning to make friends, has gre...

Hey I recently find your channel. I think there is no coincidences. So please read this, is an important message, the most important message for any person actually: We are actually fallen and corrupted creatures. We are full of injustices, wickedness, lies and evil. Every human being have the same problem, since the fall of Adam, our hearts are actually seek and go to do evil. We all say lies. We all steal something, even something small or without "importance". We all fall in sexual inmorality like having sex before marrige, or cheat your wife/husband, watch pornography, look other people with lust and corrupted desires, look them in the street, social media, internet, etc. We all hate someone in our hearts, that's actually consider to be a killer in the eyes of God. We made fake gods to worship them and not to deal with our problem: We all fail and we do horrible things in this earth. Those things I mention before are actually part of the Law of God, and WE BROKE the Law of God many many times. We are actually criminals, sinners, who made crimes against God and our neighbors. God is our Creator, He is Holy, Good and Just and He hates evil and He punish all the wicked actions of the humans beings. He establised a day when He is going to judge every human being in all the history of this Earth, the Final Day of Jugdment. We are all guilty and in that day we going to have all the consequences of our wickedness, We all deserve the eternal condenation, Hell, the Holy and Just Wrath of God, because we broke all the Law of God. We actually have a huge problem with the infinite Justice of God, and we can't escape from that destiny, we are guilty and we can't do anything to change that. We are actually lost for ever. But, God is very very Merciful and God knows we are actually lost for ever, so He did something. God the Father send His Son LORD Jesus Christ to save us. The God of Israel Himself becomes a human being, Jesus of Nazareth, and He die for us, He die for our sins. LORD Jesus in the cross take all the warth and punishment what we deserve for our sins and wickedness and He die for us He die for our sins. He paid the debt with the infinite Justice of God what we have. By His Grace we are save not by any human work of us because we only deserve hell only. That's why when you believe in LORD Jesus and His work of Salvation and Redemption you have salvation, redemption, forgiveness of sins, eternal life and reconciliation with God only by LORD Jesus. LORD Jesus was dead but He rose at the third day, and He is now sit at the right hand of God His Father but He is coming back soon to the Earth as the Supreme Judge, and He will put and end to all the wicked things and evil of the humans beings for ever, including yours if you don't repent, oh, japanese people. That's why we say to you in love and Truth, repent of your sins and wickedness and believe in LORD Jesus and His Gospel and follow Him. Without Christ you are actually lost for ever and ever. If you die, you are going to Judgement of God, and if you don't believe and follow LORD Jesus, after the Judgement you are going to the eternal condenation for ever. That's why with a great sense of urgency take this message with extreme seriously, your life and soul are in danger: you could die today at any moment, you never know. Come to Christ Jesus, without Him we are nothing and the eternal condenation is at the door. Come to Christ oh dear people. Blessings to you and your family, greetings from Chile 🇨🇱

Ok, saw that in another video, so that is old I see. But still... not saying you have to drive fast but you look so stressed in this video not even going fast. Of course you can not overtake on the right but if you stay in your lane it should be fine. The thing to do is getting on the left side and then the people would know that you mean to overtake. I have done Luxembourg to Denmark... so passing through germany and when allowed I was hitting 215-240 KPH with no stress because people know on the autobahn how to look in their back mirrors when in the left lane (the fastest lane) and they will get out of your way quickly. You can look at some real speed with an expensive car on the autoB here ua-cam.com/video/7pg1hhW5qhM/v-deo.htmlsi=tF56D3AN7J0QbrWX

there are plenty of places in Germany - and indeed Europe - where shops, beach and / or forest all are within walking distance ... I do not think you can compare countries well in this way - but obiously it is your personal experience. I never got the impression that you liked living in the village in Germany - even though you tried to be positive on youtube ... and funnily enough I knew you would leave before the 5 years you had planned ... but you should remember that working for the American army you see the counries through a looking glass - it is not the real experience of properly moving there - being part of a community - since your comunity stays "American" ...

    • @OurStorytoTell
      @OurStorytoTell 4 дні тому

Yes we totally agree that there are places like this in Germany too. It just wasn’t our experience (like you said). We can say though that we absolutely loved living in the German countryside. 💗 We miss it and also love our Japanese city experience. They’re totally different but we are “look at the glass half full kind of people”, so we’ve enjoyed both. Also we think living in the rural part of Germany made us appreciate the convenience of Iife here more. On the flip side, if we were to go back to the countryside, we might enjoy the greenery and nature aspect more (although we do feel like we always appreciated in while there). Also, we would agree with you that we have a unique experience living abroad under a SOFA contract. We try to immerse ourselves in the country of residence, but we do stay in touch with the American community as well.

Happy to find that you’ve settled in well. Just as I thought you would 👍 It’s an amazing experience, you are lucky to be able to make it. Willa is picking up Japanese in astonishing speed. Young children are like sponges when it comes to languages. I do hope that you’ll stay a really long time so that Willa will become firm in the language, and little Noa (so adorable, and headstrong too, refusing to wear a hat at the beach) will also learn at least some Japanese. I do love the Japanese gardens, and I’d love seeing the ancient castles, like Osaka castle, as @wardarcade7452 suggested. I’ve been fascinated by Japanese history and Japanese culture. (As I am fascinated by Chinese history and culture.) I think my fascination with Japan started with the miniseries Shogun, I was living in the USA then, and was glued to the TV for every episode. Then I bought the books by James Clavell … And I adore the great Akira Kurosawa’s movies. I’ve seen all of his classics (of course with English dubbing or subtitles) and I think his epic “Ran” is an absolute masterpiece, for me it belongs the best movies of all times. I’ve never been to Japan though, and to be quite honest, I don’t think I’d like Japanese foods very much, sushi and sashimi are okay, but those strange sweets made out of bean paste and such, no that wouldn’t be for me. So I admire from afar … Enjoy the beaches ! And I’m looking forward to your next video.

It's nice to see, that you enjoy living in Japan and you loved Germany. It's sure different, but don't compare life in southern Germany in the countryside with living near Tokyo. I live in Berlin and have everything within 10 minutes walk including various supermarkets, asian or arabic food, anything you want and any delivery you wish for within latest 20-30 minutes at very low cost as there is a lot of competition. Also we have a lot of water around and there is a long coastline here too, so we do enjoy being out swimming and doing water sports going by bicycle from home. So it's more, where you live in general and I bet even in Japan, if I think of Kyoto or other places, it's longer away from the coast. Love seeing your personal experiences and heard Japan is quite cheap for the exchange rate, so should definitely get to know it soon

    • @OurStorytoTell

We are so happy to feel like we’ve adapted and loved both!! We are glad to see it’s shown through in the videos! 💗 Also yes, the exchange rate is definitely in our favor right now which is nice!!

Westerners need to realize that the world isn't just Europe and that there're environmental differences. Being so close to groceries also means that one doesn't need to buy so many perishables at once. I'm constantly vacuum sealing opened packets of ham, chicken, or other cold cuts to try to maintain their shelf life for longer. When it's only a 5-minute walk, you can replenish items so quickly that there's never a need to stock up.

Honestly, Noa is so adorable now! The way she defiantly insisted on removing her hat. So funny. And her anguish that daddy and Willa were, she thought, not coming back.

Belgium here. Tip : the real belgian waffles ( there is 2 kind) have nothing else than sugar on top ( like the kid one). Waffles full of cream and other things is a tourist trap that we see now since a decade in touristic places. You can't taste the real quality of the waffle if it's full of other staff. Waffles are a very simple thing and the important is the fresh batter, so avoid nutella and those addons.

When my folks retired, they moved from a major urban area to an area in the outer-outer suburbs. They miss the lack of different cuisines - when they visit me in the major urban area, they like to take advantage and go out and get the things hey have been missing.

OK, my time in Japan wasn't as long as yours had been and mostly in the Osaka area. However, I can tell you that if you and your little ones have the time to do it there are two spots that are definitely worth exploring: First is the Osaka Castle which in itself is a marvelously restored Japanese shogunate castle but is set in a series of moats AND surrounded by walls with seemingly impossibly gigantic rocks carefully set in place like a 3-D puzzle (like the Quechuas did in the Inca Empire). More importantly, it's in a fantastic city park full of greenery, trails and lots of convenient food options (and on the border of the park is the Osaka Museum which itself is built on the site of the Osaka Imperial Palace from the 7th century AD). Yes, Osaka itself is quite a crowded and densely built up part of the Tokyo through Hiroshima megalopolis but that castle and park is too cool not to explore (and there's a good Universal theme park in the Osaka Harbor). Secondly, make a good day trip to Nara which not only has tons of really cool Shinto temples of many different sizes and ages all over the place to explore but has a pleasant deer park with deer who are NOT afraid to interact with people which I think your little ones would cherish! I'm happy that all of you seem to have embraced some of the best aspects of Japanese everyday life. Thanks for this!

Ah, you're from Utah, and then Germany, of course your hearts are yearning for water. Mine too. Actually the Great Salt Lake was remarkable, but when I sipped it, it was clear why there is only one life form that can exist there. People don't know that the salt expands into multiple acres of salt, a great white desert. But above all I miss Puget Sound, and the Pacific Ocean.

I have been to Japan as a tourist for 4 weeks only. But I felt quite, not at home, but comfortable. The security, organization and courtesy is what stuck out. What I liked less was some of the food and the inner cities which were pretty concrete only and pretty "condensed". Not as much as China but always tight quarters. But then in close to downtown Kyoto there were all the plants sitting in pots outside the houses. So instead of a garden the people had those. A result of the narrow spaces people had to themselves. BTW, if you get bread deprevation in Kyoto is a genuine German bakery.

Respect, politeness, consideration, friendlyness are the no 1 things in Japan for me. Appearence in public life (womens fashion and make-up style) is no 2. Safety (almost no crime) women can walk alone at night. no.3, convenient stores no. 4. Clean public toilets everywhere no..5. Those are all things that hardly exist in Germany!

I’m living in Japan, started watching your videos after your family arrived this country. I am Japanese and have lived in western countries ( Sweden and Canada) before. I loved those countries, whereas I felt it’s sometimes difficult to adapt those and I realized that I am a Japanese man in those days. I think everyone living in other countries has same feeling or experience and they struggle to overcome their circumstances! Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing your videos from now on!
